Dear CME Globex Customers,

Effective Tuesday, July 18, 2006, Core Consumer Price Index (CPI), the new CME Economic Derivatives product, will be directly available to CME Globex users via CME iLink for the Wednesday, July 19 auction. With this launch, CME Globex customers will be able to trade this new CME Economic Derivatives product on the CME Globex platform via the CME iLink interface in addition to the Web interfaces.

Please note: This CME Economic Derivatives product is separate and distinct from the currently-listed CME futures on the Consumer Price Index.

The Core CPI is a measure of the average price level of a fixed basket of goods and services purchased by consumers, excluding food and energy prices. Monthly changes in the Core CPI represent the rate of inflation. This listing marks the first electronically traded derivatives auction available on a U.S. inflation statistic.

The Wednesday, July 19 auction will be held from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Central time (CT). The underlying statistic is scheduled to be released at approximately 7:30 a.m. CT on that date. Auctions will be held monthly at 6:00 a.m. CT on the date of the release.
