Dear CME Globex Customers,

To facilitate customers' front-end system development, CME has published several Client Impact documents for upcoming enhancements to the CME Market Data Platform and the CME Globex electronic trading platform.

CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel
In Q1 2006, CME is launching the CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel. The Lite Channel will decrease bandwidth requirements for customers who receive their market data via the CME Market Data Platform by utilizing intelligent filters to control message quantity. Customers will be able to receive CME futures market data on a T1 connection via the Lite Channel without any critical data delays or latencies.

For more information on the new CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel, please see the CME Market Data Lite Channel Client Impact.

Q1/Q2 CME Globex Enhancements
CME has bundled a number of product and technological enhancements for launch in Q1 and Q2 of 2006. This release includes enhancements to:

  • Request for Cross orders
  • Ex-Pit transactions
  • New functionality for CME Eurodollar options on futures
  • New spreads for CME Eurodollar futures

These enhancements feature changes to CME market data messages. All front-end system providers are required to complete a quick certification to ensure no negative impact.

Information on this release can be found in the CME Globex Platform Enhancements Client Impact.

CME Auction Markets via the CME Globex Platform
Effective December 5, 2005, for the CME certification environment, and January 16, 2006, for the CME production environment, CME is launching access to the CME Auction Markets platform via the CME Globex platform.

The CME Auction Markets platform, a new and innovative trading platform, provides an electronic marketplace for derivative instruments like the CME Economic Derivatives in an auction format. The options and forwards available on the CME Auction Markets platform allow traders to tailor precise hedges or gain exposure to the economy without assuming the basis risk associated with proxies, and allow customers to trade on different economic outcomes. The CME Auction Markets platform is transparent, cost-effective, liquid and supports a wide variety of derivative strategies.

For more information on this release, please see the CME Auction Markets Client Impact Document.
