Dear CME® Globex® Customers,

Effective September 19, 2005, CME will launch the CME Eurozone HICP futures contracts on the CME Globex electronic trading platform. The CME Eurozone HICP product, based on the Eurozone Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (excluding tobacco) published by Eurostat, is the benchmark consumer price index in Europe.

With the CME Eurozone HICP futures contracts, you can:

  • Tap into the deep liquidity of the European inflation derivatives market;
  • Trade with large numbers of natural payers and receivers of inflation;
  • Hedge short term inflation risks; and,
  • Express views of monthly inflation numbers.

The CME Eurozone HICP futures are currently available in the CME certification environment.
