Dear CME^® Globex^® Customers,

To support its rapid growth in trading volume, CME has launched a new market data distribution system — the CME Market Data Platform. On July 31, 2005, the exchange released the CME Market Data Platform, which consolidates the existing CME Market Data Network (MDN) and CME Market Data Application Programming Interface (MD API) into a single market data dissemination platform. The new CME Market Data Platform combines the benefits of both systems to deliver market data messages more efficiently, using less bandwidth and providing scalability for future data growth for customers and market data distributors.

Effective on the launch of CME Market Data Platform, all new customers, both traders and data distributors, will certify on the new platform. The CME Market Data Platform is currently available in the CME certification environment and the CME AutoCert tool. Existing CME MD API and CME MDN customers are not required to re-certify their existing applications at this time, but several new tests are available in the CME AutoCert tool to test the new CME Market Data Platform functionality.
