Dear CME® Globex® Customers,

As previously announced, CME is implementing several enhancements to the CME Globex electronic trading platform to facilitate broader access, liquidity and market-making activity in options on futures for CME Interest Rate, CME Equity and CME Foreign Exchange (FX) products. For the convenience of our customers, the new functionalities have been bundled into two releases.

Release 1 of the CME Globex options enhancements will be launched in the CME production environment Sunday, August 14, 2005. With this release, the following changes will take effect:

  • Launch of the Enhanced Options System for CME Eurodollars on the Globex platform
    • The Enhanced Options System functionality, including indicative quotes and RFQs, will be available 23 hours a day on the CME Globex platform
    • Information on supporting the new CME Eurodollar options functionality via CME iLink® is available at www.cme.com/optionsenhancements
  • CME Globex TraderTM terminals will no longer support CME Eurodollar options trading
  • CME-provided Enhanced Options System terminals will still be able to trade CME Eurodollar options
  • CME Eurodollar options market data will be distributed via a new CME market data connection

To ensure access to the new enhanced CME Eurodollar options functionality, contact your front-end system provider or CME Globex Account Managerbefore August 14.

Release 1 and 2 are currently available for testing in CME AutoCert and the CME certification environment.

Release 1 - August 14, 2005
  • CME Eurodollar Options on the Globex platform, via CME iLink and CME Market Data API (MD API);
  • CME Eurodollar Mass Quotes; and,
  • Enhanced Request For Quotes (RFQ).
Release 2 - Mid-October 2005
  • CME Equity and CME FX Mass Quotes;
  • CME Equity and CME FX Enhanced Market Maker Protections for Mass Quotes†

†The enhanced Market Maker Protections for Mass Quotes functionality will be available in the CME certification environment in early September 2005. Documentation for the enhanced Market Maker Protections will be available in July.
