Dear CME® Globex® Customers,

Effective at the commencement of business Sunday, July 24, 2005, CME FirmSoft 4.0 will be launched in the CME production environment.

CME is launching the CME FirmSoft user audit in conjunction with the launch of CME FirmSoft 4.0. Upon initial log in to CME FirmSoft 4.0, all users will be prompted to update their contact information. Users who do not log in to CME FirmSoft 4.0 and update their information within six weeks of the CME FirmSoft 4.0 launch will be deactivated. Accurate, complete, and unique contact information for all CME FirmSoft users is extremely important for new release and system issue notifications, and the self-administration of password resets.

Please note that for password security purposes, it is essential that each CME FirmSoft user register a unique e-mail address with CME. Further, the use of distribution list e-mail addresses is strongly discouraged.

CME FirmSoft 4.0 includes the following enhancements:

  • Ability to personalize and save column layouts for query results;
  • Ability to customize and save five frequently used queries;
  • Search by side;
  • Numeric calendar or trade dates in the "During" drop-down list for working or filled order searches, respectively;
  • "Type" field symbology changes for Market (MKT) and Market-Limit (MKL) order searches; and
  • Performance-tuning for searches using the wildcard character (*) in the path/session field.

Accessing CME FirmSoft 4.0
Accessing the new version of CME FirmSoft will require no changes for existing CME FirmSoft users. All existing CME FirmSoft user IDs and passwords remain valid.
