Dear GLOBEX Customers,
CME(TM) has identified an issue with the ExecID field (FIX 4.2 tag #17) returned in customer execution reports in both iLink
1.0 and iLink 2.0. Specifically, The FIX 4.2 standard specifies that the ExecID (FIX 4.2 tag #17) will be a unique value.
In iLink 2.0, the value provided by CME in this field is only unique for a given iLink 2.0 session and product code. Consequently,
it is possible in rare circumstances for a customer to receive the same ExecID for two different execution reports in two
different products, or if the customer utilizes multiple iLink 2.0 sessions.
In iLink 1.0, the value provided by CME in this field is only unique for a given iLink 1.0 session. Consequently, it is possible
in rare circumstances for a customer to receive the same ExecID for two different execution reports, if the customer utilizes
multiple iLink 1.0 sessions.
In the short term, customers who need to convert the ExecID value to a unique "Key" may do so by combining the "TargetCompID"
(FIX tag #56), "SecurityDesc" (FIX tag #107) and ExecID (FIX tag #17) into a single value. This will work for both iLink 1.0
and iLink 2.0.
CME will correct this issue in a future release, to ensure unique values are provided in this tag. Prior to release, these
changes will be made available for customer testing in our certification environments.
