COMEX Division Sets Record Seat Sale

New York, N.Y., December 27, 2005 — The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced that a seat on COMEX Division sold for a record $440,000 today.

The previous record of $425,000 was set on December 21.

Exchange President James E. Newsome said, "We are delighted with the increased metals futures volume this year as seen by a 13% growth in COMEX Division volume. This record is indicative of the value the market places on the price transparency, liquidity and financial security offered through trading on the Exchange."
