Highlights
Stock indexes edged up Wednesday with the AI trade outperforming on positive earnings news. There was minimal reaction to an as-expected Federal Reserve policy announcement which confirmed expectations for a rate hike in December. The Dow Jones industrial average firmed 0.2 percent and the S&P and the Nasdaq both gained 0.3 percent. Bond yields were mixed with shorter yields declining and longer yields rising. The dollar index slipped and WTI oil prices declined.
