Highlights

Stock indexes were mostly better on Monday as the AI trade rebounded from last week’s losses amid bargain hunting. The Dow Jones industrial average eased 0.1 percent, the S&P rose 0.4 percent, and the Nasdaq gained 1.1 percent. Bond yields and WTI oil prices rose while the dollar was mostly higher.

Higher bond yields weighed on the Dow along with rising oil prices amid new Houthi attacks on Saudi oil fields and airport. Investors are focused on the prospect of more Iranian strikes on oil facilities in the runup to US midterm elections as a means of pressuring President Trump.

Best sectors included consumer cyclicals and technology shares.
