Highlights
On a busy day for scheduled US economic reports, producer prices and retail sales are the key reports at 8:30 am ET. The Econoday consensus looks for PPI-FD up 0.5 percent on the month in September and up 5.4 percent on year with PPI ex-food & energy up 0.3 percent and 4.5 percent. After the inflationary shift in CPI on Wednesday and renewed rise in oil prices, this is going to be a nail-biter.
Retail sales is expected up 0.3 percent on the month for September and up 0.5 percent ex-autos. Remember these are not inflation adjusted numbers.
