Highlights

Markets transfixed by rising US bond yields and global bond yields after many hit their highs since 2007 on Wednesday. US Treasury yields so far Thursday relatively flat at those highs with 10-year near 5.12 percent and 30-year at 5.42 percent -- with next stop 5.5 percent.

Lots of focus on surprisingly strong US economic data and hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials (with more of the latter likely coming today). Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin under way shortly with fireside chat at Economic Club of Washington, D.C.
