Highlights
All eyes are on Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at 10 am ET at the Fed's annual Jackson Hole conference. Markets have grown accustomed to Fed chairs using the Jackson Hole appearance as a big occasion to signal policy intentions headed into the fall and ahead of the September Federal Open Market Committee meeting. Of course, Warsh has shown he wants to tell the world a lot less about what the Fed is thinking so it may be markets will be disappointed again. Pressure is building on Warsh to back up his claim that the Fed will deliver on its commitment to get inflation to the 2 percent target. The bond vigilantes appear poised to continue taking yields higher if Warsh fails.
