Australia's Westpac-Melbourne Institute index of consumer sentiment indicates that confidence is continuing to recover from the initial impact of the Iran conflict and policy tightening earlier in the year. The index rose 6.0 percent to 88.9 in August, from 83.9 in July, not far below levels recorded earlier in the year.
