Highlights
Major stock averages rallied for a second straight day Tuesday on positive earnings, an ongoing recovery in big technology shares, and hopes for progress toward Mideast peace. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 1.7 percent while the S&P 500 gained 1.8 percent, and the Nasdaq was up 2.6 percent. Oil prices, bond yields dropped while dollar was mixed.
