Highlights
After hawkish comments from Federal Reserve Governor Chris Waller on Monday, the CBOE FedWatch tool shows markets are pricing in a somewhat higher likelihood of a 25 basis point rate increase on July 29 -- a 25 percent chance. And it's up to a 47 percent chance at the September 16 meeting. These rate hike expectation numbers were lower after the weak US payrolls figure for June released on Friday. Waller reminded everyone the Fed is still focused on the inflation problem and the Fed's commitment to its 2 percent target, not some new range.
