Highlights
The trade deficit narrowed by slightly more then EUR2.0 billion in June to minus EUR5.847 billion rom a revised minus EUR7.729 (-6.928) billion in May.
Exports increased 6.8 percent from a year ago to EUR54.537, led by deliveries of transportation equipment, energy products, electronics, and computer equipment. On the import side of the ledger, EUR60.384 billion worth of goods flowed into the country, an increase of 4.4 percent from a year ago.
The decline in imports is attributable to a EUR500 million decline in the import of energy products due to lower prices, while the importation of transport equipment fell by EUR600 million. Conversely, the import of mechanical, electronical, and IT equipment rose some EUR600 million.
