China's merchandise trade surplus in US dollar terms widened from $105.43 billion in May to $125.8 billion in June. This is the second-highest trade surplus on record. Exports rose 27.0 percent on the year after increasing 19.4 percent previously, boosted by strong demand for AI products and speculation that US tariffs will soon increase for some Chinese goods. Imports rose 36.0 percent on the year after a previous increase of 27.4 percent.
