Singapore industrial production fell 7.2 percent on the month in June, weakening from an increase of 6.9 percent in May. Previously published PMI survey data, in contrast, showed strong conditions in Singapore's economy in June, with July PMI data scheduled for release next week.

In year-over-year terms, industrial production rose 7.2 percent in June, also slowing from growth of 17.8 percent in May. This fall in headline growth reflects more moderate growth for electronic exports, up 21.3 percent on the year after a previous increase of 49.2 percent. Exports also recorded weaker growth in the precision engineering and general manufacturing industries, offset by stronger growth for the transport engineering industries. Exports biomedical manufacturing industry fell at a less pronounced rate.
