Highlights
Major stock indexes were almost flat Friday with weakness in chipmakers weighing on the market while the wider market gained. The Dow Jones industrial average eased 0.1 percent while the S&P 500 was down 0.1 percent and the Nasdaq was off 0.2 percent. Bond yields, oil prices and the dollar all declined.
Other big technology shares saw inflows out of the chip/AI trade. Declining bond yields provided support for the market with the latest move down in oil prices. Oil continued lower as markets see continued momentum toward a settlement in the US-Iran war despite new trouble in the Persian Gulf.
