Highlights

An interesting batch of economic reports is due Tuesday including the Conference Board's consumer confidence index due at 10 am ET. Consumers have not been happy about rising gas prices and other signs of fallout from President Trump's policy choices including tariffs and now the energy shock flowing from the war on Iran.
Expectations for consumer confidence call for 89.4 in April versus 91.8 in March.

Meanwhile, oil futures prices are up again after reports that President Trump would not accept Iran's latest offer to end the current hostilities. This comes as the war enters its third month with no clarity at all about how or when it will end. Stock trading expected to be cautious ahead of a batch of Magnificent Seven earnings results due Wednesday and Thursday. Also due Wednesday is the Federal Reserve policy announcement and expected to be Fed Chair Jerome Powell's final press conference as chair.
