Highlights

On an exceptionally quiet news day Tuesday, markets are stabilizing after Monday's selloff in stocks and bonds on spiking Japanese government bond yields amid rising expectations for a Japanese rate increase. That undercut the yen carry trade that underlies many bets on US instruments. Risky assets including crypto took a beating Monday but have been quieter Tuesday.

Lots of interest in Wednesday's US data dump featuring ADP employment figures for November (+20K expected) and ISM services report for November (52.1 expected versus 52.4 in October). Monday's ISM manufacturing report came in low on business activity and high on inflation, not a pretty picture, and investors are keen to see if the much larger services sector shows the same trend.

With the blackout in effect for Federal Reserve speakers addressing monetary policy, Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman testifies at 10 am before the House Financial Services Committee on financial regulation, which may be of interest for financial stocks.
