Highlights
We get another batch of Fed appearances today featuring a trio known for their hawkish views. First up: Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Jeffrey Schmid at 10:05 am ET. Schmid dissented in favor of keeping rates steady at the October Fed policy meeting and has highlighted his inflation worries. He speaks on monetary policy and the economic outlook at a conference on energy and the economy hosted by the Kansas City Fed.
Second comes a fireside chat with Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Lorie Logan at 2:30 pm ET at the same Kansas City Fed event. Logan is also known lately for her focus on controlling inflation.
Third is Raphael Bostic, the Atlanta Fed president, at 3:20 pm ET. Bostic, who has stepped down as Atlanta Fed president, effective Feb. 28, said Thursday he favors keeping rates where they are until there is clear evidence inflation is behaving. He will do a moderated conversation before the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management annual conference.
