A CME Group Disaster Recovery event occurs when CME Group switches client systems processing from the CME Group production environment to the CME Group DR environment. The DR environment provides redundant standby systems to be used upon the failure of the CME Group production environment.

CME Group operates a two data center model where all production systems reside in the primary data center and all DR systems reside in the secondary data center. A catastrophic production data center failure would cause CME Group to switch to the DR data center, however CME Group has a robust production environment with multiple layers of redundancy to provide protection against smaller interruptions.
