US Seasonal Strip Weather Heating Degree Day (HDD) 
 

Weather Contract Listings Extended
Effective trade date Monday, June 22, 2009, the listing cycle for U.S. Monthly and Seasonal CDD and HDD futures and options contracts has been extended from one year to three years.

This product is geared to how much below 65 degrees Fahrenheit the temperature in a given city averages in a customized “season” of 2 to 7 consecutive calendar months from October to April. It provides a way to:

  • Protect revenues in months when the weather may average below 65 degrees Fahrenheit and consumers may use heating.
  • Select the months you would like to trade to suit your business needs
  • Accept the risk of unfavorable or atypical weather in exchange for possible profit

You can trade U.S. Seasonal Strip HDD futures on the following cities:
