Three New Ferrous Swap Futures to List in Expanded Industrial Metals Suite

Effective trade date Monday, Apr. 18, 2011, the Exchange will list three new ferrous metals contracts for trading on the New York trading floor and for submission for clearing through CME ClearPort. The contracts are:

• FSF: HMS 80/20 Ferrous Scrap, CFR Turkey (Platts) Swap Futures
• NSF: European Hot Rolled Coil, Ex-Works Ruhr Germany (Platts) Swap Futures
• SSF: Steel Billet, FOB Black Sea (Platts) Swap Futures

The contracts will be listed with NYMEX, and subject to the rules and regulations of NYMEX and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc.

E-micro Gold Breaks 100,000 Contract Mark

Market enthusiasm for the Exchange's innovative 10-oz E-micro Gold Futures contract has pushed total trading volume beyond 100,000 contracts since its launch on Oct. 4, 2010, with historical volume totaling 100,275 contracts as of Apr. 6, 2011.

Gold Volatility Index (VIX) Futures on CME Globex and CME ClearPort

The Gold Volatility (VIX) Futures (GVF) contract is now available for trading on CME Globex and CME ClearPort. The contract is based on volatility indexes that combine COMEX options market data on CME Globex for gold with the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Volatility Index (VIX) methodology. The contract is trading with competitive bid/ask spreads
