OTC Global Holdings Joins CME ConfirmHub for Energy STP

CME Group is pleased to announce that OTC Global Holdings has joined our roster of leading interdealer brokers to offer energy traders a superior straight-through-processing (STP) solution for OTC Energy trading.

Supporting brokered, exchange-traded and bilateral transactions, CME ConfirmHub allows both voice and electronic trades to be received in a standard format and then routed directly into trade capture and processing systems. This virtually eliminates the need for manual-trade entry, reduces errors and decreases trade processing costs and timelines. Via one secure API connection to ConfirmHub, trading firms can receive trades from multiple brokers and exchanges, significantly reducing costs associated with establishing and managing STP connections to multiple trading venues.

CME ConfirmHub's real-time STP enables both brokers and trading firms to meet the trade reporting and swap data repository submission requirements mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act.

OTC Global Holdings trades should be available on ConfirmHub early in the New Year.

Margin Erosion Opportunities for Energy Traders

If you trade financially settled energy contracts, your margin requirements decrease, or erode, as the contract month progresses. If the contracts you trade settle according to an average of daily prices during the settlement month, we ask for margin on only the remaining risk, as a service to you, so you can use that capital more efficiently in other ways. CME Group is the only exchange for energy trading and clearing that offers this feature. Visit CME Group's margins webpage to view full initial and eroded maintenance margins for individual contracts, and to learn more about this process.
