  • Evaluate or reflect on the current and future supply and demand situation for oats

Things to Know:

  • Oat futures are a dollar denominated, physical delivery 5,000 bushel (approx. 86 metric tons) contract
  • Contracts are available for trading over 15 hours per day providing customers access regardless of their time zone
  • Oats are traded electronically on CME Globex during the Asian and European daytime market hours as well as during the primary U.S. grain trading hours side-by-side with the open auction platform
  • Oats are used in many breakfast foods, as well as for animal feed
