Cleared Over the Counter (OTC) Commodity Index Swaps allow investors to have direct exposure to a variety of indexes. These contracts are based on indexes that are among those most closely followed for investment performance in the commodity markets. Investors, asset managers and financial institutions use them to track performance, or as benchmarks for their actively managed accounts. Trades are submitted to CME ClearPort and cleared by CME Clearing, with substantially mitigated counterparty credit risk. This fact card provides details on the underlying indexes and contract specifications.
