As previously announced, the FIX/FAST market data format will replace Globex ITC 2.1 message format in 2009. This notice contains the following detailed information regarding key milestone dates, template changes and financial penalties.
Key Milestone Dates
In an effort to assist CME Group Quote Vendors during the conversion, we have outlined key milestone dates in the table below. Please take a moment to review the following key milestone dates.

New Template – Updated Information
On, Sunday, June 28, 2009, (trade date Monday, June 29), enhancements for the Market Data Incremental Refresh (tag 35-MsgType=X) messages will be available to facilitate the conversion of ITC messages to FIX/FAST for CME Globex. These enhancements will require a new template. The following will be included in Market Data Incremental Refresh (tag 35-MsgType=X) messages:
• “Theoretical Settlement Data Block”
• “Open Interest Data Block”
• “Cleared Volume Data Block”
• “Fixing Price Data Block”
Please download the new production templates prior to market open on Sunday, June 28, 2009, to ensure you have the most current version of the product templates.
The enhancements for the Market Data Incremental Refresh (tag 35-MsgType=X) messages will be available for testing in New Release a date to be determined. The new template and enhanced Incremental Refresh messages are now available in Certification, on a new Market Data Platform Channel:

Financial Penalties
CME Group will impose financial penalties on Quote Vendors/Customers starting October 2, 2009, for non-Certification of FIX/FAST market. Failure to meet the October 2, 2009, deadline for successful FIX/FAST certification will result in the following financial penalties begin assessed:
§ October 2009 - $2,000 per week penalty imposed for Globex ITC consumers which have not certified for FIX/FAST
§ November 2009 - $4,000 per week penalty imposed for Globex ITC consumers which have not certified for FIX/FAST
§ December 2009 - $6,000 per week penalty imposed for Globex ITC consumers which have not certified for FIX/FAST
Additional Information
CME Group will offer a configurable JAVA reference code for Top of Book market data consumers upon request only . Please contact Market Data Operations (MDO) at mdo@cmegroup.com for additional details regarding the JAVA reference code.
Please note: The aforementioned changes will not affect CME Group’s floor ITC 2.1 market data format, as this data format will remain unchanged.
