Following discussions with industry representatives, we are pleased to announce the new integration dates for COMEX and NYMEX as follows: all COMEX products will migrate to the CME Clearing platform on Monday, September 14, 2009; and all NYMEX products will migrate to the CME Clearing platform on Monday, October 5, 2009.
Please be reminded that each firm is responsible for testing and certifying its readiness prior to each integration launch date. CME Clearing’s test environment allows firms to perform all critical trade entry, trade messaging, and post-trade processing functions. These new dates should offer firms sufficient testing opportunities prior to each integration.
CME Clearing is available to assist firms by providing scripts, injecting electronic trades, keypunching floor trades, etc. It is incumbent on firms, however, to ensure that all essential internal bookkeeping functions e.g. trade loads, point balancing, position reporting, large trader reporting, customer margining, etc. are fully functional prior to the integration.
CME Clearing will host two Saturday mock trading sessions prior to the COMEX integration (8/22 and 8/29) and two Saturday mock trading sessions prior to the NYMEX integration (9/19 and 9/26). Also, we will continue to sponsor weekly scripted testing (Tuesday through Friday) through the week of September 28 – October 2) and will continue to assist firms with unique requests to the extent possible.
CME Clearing relationship managers will continue to contact each firm over the next few weeks to assess progress and readiness prior to each integration date. We thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in making this historic integration a success.
