For the past two years, over 350 local traders have been using Handheld Technology (HHT) to record their pit trades.  As a result, CME Group member firms, that clear these local traders in the open auction market, are able to achieve straight through processing.  The back office automation is achievable because the HHT devices electronically send trade data to the member firm back office for real-time processing and trade matching.

State-of-the-art technology in the form of lightweight, wireless, handheld devices enable local traders to record open auction trades via a touch screen and accept and/or link opposing trades with a single tap on the screen.

CME Group is offering these devices for traders to use on a complimentary basis.
