CME Group Opposes Illinois Legislature's Vote to Adopt One of the Highest Corporate Tax Rates in the U.S.

Wed Jan 12 2011

CHICAGO, Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today issued the following statement in strong opposition to the Illinois Senate and House vote to raise corporate and household tax rates:

"CME Group strongly opposes any efforts to shift the state's fiscal burdens to Illinois companies and employers. This move by the Illinois legislature will give Illinois one of the highest corporate tax rates in the U.S.   These significant tax increases, which are not tied to any corresponding spending cuts, will negatively impact jobs and business opportunities for Illinois residents and stifle economic growth in our state."
