OneChicago to List Futures on Four S&P Select Sector SPDRs

Thu Aug 31 2006

CHICAGO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- OneChicago, LLC, the security futures exchange, today announced the launch of futures contracts on four of the most popular S&P Select Sector SPDRs, also known as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Beginning September 1, investors will be able to trade security futures on the S&P Energy (XLE), Financial (XLF), Utilities (XLU) and Health Care (XLV) Sector SPDRs.

Each physically delivered contract will be the equivalent of 1,000 shares of the underlying ETF, as compared to the 100-share equivalent for OneChicago security futures now listed.

S&P Sector SPDRs are funds designed to track the performance of publicly traded companies in their respective industries. Electronically traded futures on ETFs will provide investors exposure to the stocks in those sectors with the capital efficiencies and immediate execution benefits of security futures.

OneChicago President Marty Doyle said, "OneChicago is pleased to be able to respond to our customers' requests and add to our ETF futures offerings. Sector SPDRs are popular investment tools that, combined with the low margins of security futures, will fit well with a variety of portfolio management strategies."

The Exchange lists 228 futures on single stocks, including futures on the DIAMONDS® Trust, as well as five OneChicago Select Indexes, a series of customer-designed narrow-based security index futures. OneChicago rules permit block and EFP trading and a substantial percentage of the Exchange's volume results from such trades.

OneChicago is a joint venture of Interactive Brokers Group LLC, the Chicago Board Options Exchange Incorporated® (CBOE®), Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME®) and the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®). All products are electronically traded on the CBOEdirect® match engine and accessible through the CBOEdirect and CME Globex® platforms. Security futures can be traded out of either securities or futures accounts.
