NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Sets Daily Volume Record on CME Globex®

New York, N.Y., October 27, 2006 — The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that it set a daily volume record for natural gas futures contracts traded on the CME Globex electronic trading platform on Wednesday.

Natural gas futures traded a record 54,213 contracts, exceeding the 48,235 contracts traded on October 18.

NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12. Access to electronic trading of NYMEX products is available virtually 24 hours a day on CME Globex.
