NYMEX ClearPort® Clearing Sets Record Volume

New York, N.Y., January 26, 2006 — The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced a record volume today, for NYMEX ClearPort® clearing.

NYMEX ClearPort® cleared 371,369 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 300,138 contracts set on January 6.

Exchange President, James E. Newsome said, "This record reflects the Exchange's ability to cater to the needs of its customers whether they trade electronically or via open outcry. Our recent technology upgrades have enabled us to manage a greater volume of trades and continue to provide market stability and security."
