Hurricane Katrina Letter 9/7/2005 To all Members and Employees: As part of the nationwide relief effort to help the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the CME Foundation ("Foundation") has approved a $250,000 contribution to the American Red Cross. Additionally, the Foundation will sponsor a fundraising drive for hurricane relief this Thursday, September 8 and Friday, September 9 and will match up to $50,000 of the donations received from members of our Exchange community. If CME members and employees contribute at least $50,000, the Foundation’s total donation will be $300,000. President Bush has described this natural disaster as one of the worst in recent U.S. history, and we all have seen the news reports on how it has caused intense human suffering and hardship. We hope that CME's financial support of the relief effort will provide needed comfort and security to those affected by this tragedy. A table will be set up on the Mezzanine Level from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. this Thursday and Friday for CME members and employees to contribute to the relief effort. Cash and checks will be accepted. Cash contributions and checks payable to the CME Foundation will be directed to the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund. Please note that this matching effort will be administered separately from the Foundation’s annual Matching Gift Program and will not be subject to the same guidelines. If you have any questions about the Foundation's hurricane relief efforts, please contact Kristin Wood, Manager, Corporate and Community Relations, at 930-451 0. If you are unable to make it to CME during the collection, checks payable to the CME Foundation can be sent to Kristin care of the following address: CME Foundation 20 S.
