CME Group’s CME and CBOT subsidiaries are self-regulatory organizations responsible for ensuring the integrity of trading in CME Group products, thereby fostering competitive, efficient and financially sound markets.  CME Group imposes strict requirements (Confidentiality Policy) on the Market Regulation and Audit Departments for maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive data used to perform their responsibilities or which they obtain during investigations.The quality and strength of our regulatory capabilities enable us to:

  • Enhance the attractiveness of our products, markets and services
  • Assure high standards for market integrity and supervision of trading activity
  • Ensure the financial condition of our member intermediaries

 

Market Regulation Oversight Committee

In April 2004, CME, one of the predecessors of CME Group, became the first futures exchange to appoint a board-level committee devoted to self-regulatory oversight.
