CME Group Strategic Partnership with the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT)

CME Group and the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) have a strategic partnership realized through a commercial agreement. The agreement provides for all electronic trading of KCBT products to be conducted on CME Globex. It also calls for price limits to be coordinated between CME Group, KCBT, and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGX).

Listing KCBT products on CME Globex offers opportunities for:

  • New and broader trading audiences for hard red winter wheat, the world’s primary bread-wheat benchmark
  • Unrivalled wheat trading distribution and reliability
  • Wheat traders to take advantage of implied pricing functionality, which creates the most liquid markets and best possible pricing

In addition, the coordination of price limits with CME Group and MGEX minimizes risks associated with inter-market spread distortions in the wheat market.

About the Kansas City Board of Trade
