CME Group Strategic Partnership with Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME)

 

CME Group has a strategic partnership with the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME), the Middle East’s first commodity futures exchange. The partnership is based on CME Group’s partner exchange program, in which DME member trades are matched on CME Globex and submitted for clearing through CME ClearPort under an independent exchange, and on a shareholder agreement with Tatweer (a subsidiary of Dubai Holding) and the Oman Investment Fund. The partnership is committed to the:

  • Extension of clearing services in Europe for non-US entities
  • Establishment of additional energy futures benchmarks for the region
  • Training of the region’s next generation of derivatives traders

About Dubai Mercantile Exchange
The Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited is the Middle East’s premier energy-focused commodities exchange. Introduced with the launch of DME, the DME Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract (OQD) is the world’s third crude oil benchmark. It is the explicit and sole benchmark for Oman and Dubai crude oil Official Selling Prices (OSPs), the historically established markers for Middle Eastern crude oil exports to Asia.
