CME Globex Customer Roles and Entitlements

CME Globex Clearing and Executing Firms have the ability to provide their employees access to various CME Group applications as well as permissions to complete CME Group-defined actions. Below you will find information pertaining to all roles, the associated permissions for all CME Globex applications, and the onboarding process for each role.

CME Direct Executing Firm Administrator

Application: CME Direct

This Executing trader/broker firm employee manages CME Direct product and account access, as well as user-level clip sizes within the respective Executing Firm.

Onboarding: Contact CME Direct Sales.

CME Direct User

Application: CME Direct

CME Direct is a CME Group-provided front end which provides registered users access to CME Group futures and OTC markets.

Onboarding: Contact CME Direct Sales. To complete the process, CME Direct users must also reach out to their Clearing Firm Risk Administrator(s) to establish risk settings in CME Account Manager.

Clearing Firm Administrator

The Clearing Firm Administrator is authorized for the following:

  • Submit add, modify, and delete GCC Outbound Contact requests to Global Account Management
  • Request iLink session IDs, provided Schedule 6, Exhibit A has been submitted
  • Request Drop Copy Group iLink source sendercomp additions/deletions
  • Approve iLink session ID Port closures and re-openings, except when iLink session password changes associated with the Auto-Delete process have been activated

Onboarding: A Clearing Firm Administrator must complete Schedule 3 and return to Global Account Management.

Clearing Firm Authorized Officer or Director

This Clearing Firm employee has sign-off authority from the Clearing Firm for CME Globex-related paperwork. The Authorized list is not maintained or verified by CME Group.

Clearing Firm Back Office Manager

Applications: Exchange Fee System, Enterprise Reporting Portal, Broker Payment System, Give up Payment System, Front End Clearing, Positions, Settlements, Banking and  Assets, Firm Administrator Dashboard back-office section

This Clearing Firm employee can submit requests to onboard users for various CME Clearing-related applications.

Clearing Firm Messaging Efficiency Program Contact

Application: None

This Clearing Firm employee is authorized to receive emailed Messaging Efficiency Program surcharge notifications for all Executing Firms who are cleared by the respective Clearing Firm.

Onboarding: Clearing Firm Primary/Secondary Administrators log in to the Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB), and navigate to MEP Contact Management > Assign Clearing MEP Contact

Executing Firm Messaging Efficiency Program Contact

Application: None

Clearing or Executing Firm employee is authorized to receive emailed Messaging Efficiency surcharge notifications for an Executing firm(s).

Onboarding: Clearing Firm Primary/Secondary Administrators log in to the Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB), and navigate to MEP Contact Management > Assign Executing MEP Contact

Firm Administrator Dashboard User

Application: Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB)

FADB Update – All: role is authorized for the following:

  • Ability to view specialized reports in the Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB) which contains information for all Executing firms cleared. This includes: clearing mapping, iLink session IDs, Firm Registered Contacts, FirmSoft Users & Entitlements, Cancel On Disconnect, Messaging Efficiency Contacts and GCC Outbound Contacts
  • View iLink session passwords in the Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB)
  • Enable/Disable Cancel on Disconnect (COD) functionality via the FADB
  • Add, modify, and delete Clearing and Executing Firm Messaging Efficiency Program (MEP) contacts via the FADB
  • View messaging metrics for CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program
  • Submit CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program Request for Waivers (RFW)
  • Request Self-Match Prevention IDs
  • View iLink session stats

FADB Update – Partial: role is authorized for the following:

  • Enable/Disable Cancel on Disconnect (COD) functionality via the FADB
  • View messaging metrics for CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program
  • Submit CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program Request for Waivers (RFW)
  • Request Self-Match Prevention IDs
  • View iLink session stats

FADB View – SOX: role is authorized for the following:

  • View reports

Onboarding: Registered Entity Admin Managers and FADB Application Admins manage user entitlements via the User Administration functionality.

FirmSoft Administrator

Application: FirmSoft

Clearing Firm employee responsible for adding and modifying permissions for FirmSoft users.

Onboarding: Complete and return Schedule 9 to Global Account Management

FirmSoft User

Application: FirmSoft

market participant who has access to FirmSoft, which allows users to view and/or cancel orders for iLink and CME Direct.

FirmSoft users are also permissioned as GCC Inbound Contacts and have the right to contact the GCC to status and/or cancel orders based on their CME Group Login permissions enabled in FirmSoft.

Onboarding: A Clearing firm FirmSoft Administrator must access the FirmSoft tool and navigate to Add/Edit User > Firm Permissions to add another user.

RMI API System Application Login

Application: Risk Management Interface API

This Clearing Firm, or a third-party designated by Clearing Firm, has authorized access to the Risk Management Interface API.

Onboarding: A Clearing Firm Administrator must complete Schedule 6, Exhibit D and return to Global Account Management.

Clearing Firm Risk Administrator

Applications: CME Group Risk Management Tools (RMT) - CME Globex Credit Controls GUI, DSF Access Manager, Kill Switch GUI, RMI GUI and CME Account Manager-Mass Quote Protection GUI.

Clearing Firm employee who has access to the CME Group Risk Management Tools (RMT), CME Account Manager-Mass Quote Protection GUI and has the right to contact the GCC to permission iLink session ID Port closure/re-open. The Clearing Firm employee can also submit GCC Outbound Contact requests to Global Account Management.

Onboarding: The Clearing Firm Primary/Secondary Administrators must complete Schedule 6, Exhibit C, and return to Global Account Management.

CME Account Manager Administrator for CME Globex Registration

Application: CME Account Manager

This Clearing Firm employee has the authority to establish risk settings in CME Account Manager.

Onboarding: The Clearing Firm CME Account Manager Verification Officer must contact Enterprise Application & System Entitlements (EASE) for the CME Account Manager Registration form. The Verification Officer must sign and return the form to EASE. In addition, the Verification Officer will also need to complete Schedule 6 Exhibit E and return to EASE.

CME Account Manager Verification Officer

Application: CME Account Manager

Clearing Firm employee with the authority to approve new CME Account Manager users or disable existing users.

Onboarding: The Clearing Firm Operations Manager must contact Enterprise Application & System Entitlements (EASE) for the CME Account Manager Registration form. The Manager must sign and return the form to EASE.

Executing Firm Risk Administrator

Applications: CME Group Risk Management Tools (RMT) - Kill Switch GUI. CME Account Manager-Mass Quote Protection GUI (View Only Capability).

Executing firm employee who has been given authorized access by the clearing firm to the Kill Switch and Mass Quote Protection GUIs. The Executing Firm employee can also submit GCC Outbound Contact requests to Global Account Management.

Onboarding: The Clearing Firm Primary/Secondary Administrators must complete Schedule 6, Exhibit C, and return to Global Account Management

GCC Outbound iLink Session Technical Contact

Person, phone number, or email address (individual or vanity) the GCC uses to notify an Executing Firm regarding technical issues such as:

  • Improper sequence numbering
  • A runaway automated trading system (ATS)

Co-Location Customer Support Portal Firm Administrator User

A registered individual authorized to add/remove CME Co-Location Customer Support Portal users as well as submit/approve any Portal request.

Onboarding: Contact CME Co-Location Customer Support for the Co-Location Customer Support Portal Firm Administrator User Entitlement Form. Complete the form and return it to CME Co-Location Customer Support.
