Non-Member Broker Intermediary – Tiered Credit Account Structure

Allows Non-Member Broker Intermediaries to create and manage their customers in CME ClearPort.

Benefits for Non-Member Broker Intermediary

  • Preserve customer anonymity from FCM
  • Ease of customer onboarding:
    • Ability to simply add and remove customers
    • If customer is not registered, Non-Member Broker Intermediary can be tagged as the owner of customer account
  • Directly manage credit at trading sub account level
  • Monitor credit utilization at the Non-Member Broker Intermediary account level for its customers

Steps to Setup Non-Member Broker Intermediary Account:

To set up Non-Member Broker Intermediary Account sub account owner will need to be registered on CME ClearPort

If a firm is not registered, they must visit and have a risk admin register for Account Manager.

Locating Non-Member Broker Intermediary account in Account Manager

1.Log in to ClearPort Account Manager

2. Go to “Account” tab

  • Set Clearing Member = Clearing Member company name
  • NCM Account Enabled = Yes
  • Click Search

3. Click on the account number to view the details and createsub accounts

Create sub accounts

1.Click on “Create New” at bottom of page

  • Name the account. The account name is at the Non-MemberBroker Intermediary Trader Risk Admin’s discretion.
  • Add description of account. The description should reflectwhat the account will be used for
  • Assign Owner Firm (Customer who be using the account forclearing); this must be a registered ClearPort firm

2. Click the Green check to save

Set credit limit for sub account

1. Click on the Account Number to set credit limits on sub-account

2. Click on “Credit Control Info”

3. Click on “Edit”

4. Enter RAV limit

5. Manage individual products or set all product limits to“unlimited”

  • Changing the position limit to zero at a product levelrestricts products at the sub account level

6. Hit Submit
