Chinese exports rose 2.7% y/y in August.  The pace of growth is on the weak side of history.  At times, there is a positive relationship between the growth rate of Chinese exports and the direction of the 10 year treasury.  The takeaway from the graphic is a sharp rise in Chinese exports would argue for a rise in 10 year yields.  Current export growth in China is consistent with weak global growth and tending to put downward pressure on treasury yields.
