December silver was able to rise above the $34.00 level for the first time since mid-March but fell back from early highs and ended Monday's session in negative territory. Expectations for rising US inflation levels if the Fed starts up fresh easing measures at this week's FOMC meeting helped to underpin silver prices near their recent highs. However, a lack of carryover support from other metals markets likely kept silver from finishing with a moderate gain.
