The gold market seemed to be content to extend a recent pattern of lower highs and lower lows. Adverse currency market action, fears of a hard landing in China and renewed talk of a breakdown of the EU appeared to foster a risk off environment today and that pressured gold and other physical commodity markets. Some players suggested that minor rise in the KC Fed readings tamped down easing prospects, while others think that the Fed is already in a position to ease off the increased slowing drag from abroad, but that was of little benefit to the gold bulls today.
