The silver market followed gold and a host of physical commodity markets higher and in the process the September silver contract rose up to the highest level since June 21st. Some traders suggest that silver might have become short term oversold around this week's lows and that adjusting for the slide into the lows Thursday the silver market might have allowed silver to have registered one of the lowest non commercial and non reportable net longs since late 2001! Instead of spiraling deflation the silver market today seemed to be presented with at least a glimmer of macro economic hope.
