The silver market spent most of the Thursday US trade in the upper half of the prior session's trading range. Like gold, silver was partially lifted by technical short covering but it is also possible that a minimal improvement in US scheduled data provided a temporary respite from the recent sharp downtrend in prices. With equities also lifted today, the overall environment for silver and physical commodity markets was improved from what had been a definitive deflationary type condition earlier in the week.
