The US Department of Commerce has reported that they are rescinding the antidumping duty administrative review against certain hot-rolled steel flat products from India, effective Monday, April 30, 2012. The DOC announced an opportunity back in December 1, 2011 for anyone to request an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain hot rolled carbon steel flat products from India for the period December 1, 2010, through November 30, 2011. On December 30, 2011, and January 3, 2012, Nucor Corporation and U.S. Steel requested an administrative review of Essar Steel Limited, Ispat Industries Limited, JSW Steel Limited, and Tata Steel Limited.
In early-mid February, JSW, Tata, Essar, and Ispat informed the DOC that the companies did not make shipments of subject merchandise to the United States during the period of review. Thus, on March 7, 2012 and March 29, 2012, respectively, Nucor Corporation and U.S. Steel Corporation withdrew their requests for review. The DOC responded by rescinding the review with respect to Essar, Ispat, JSW, and Tata, and in its entirety.
