March 30-Year Bonds traded higher throughout the trading session and registered a higher high in the process. Early support for US government debt came on renewed concerns over Greece and their ability to implement new austerity measures. These concerns were also seen in the German Bund market, which reversed earlier losses to trade at a new, four-day high. Treasury prices seemed to flat line through the mid-session and ahead of today's $35 billion 5-Year Note auction. The auction results were met with solid demand and yields that matched the when-issued rate of 0.90%. March Bonds rallied to their high of the session during the afternoon hours. Some traders indicated that concerns over rising energy prices seemed to offer additional support to the Treasury market.
