The March S&P 500 experienced a volatile trading session, under pressure early in the session tracking losses in Europe. Some traders noted that headlines out of Italy and uncertainty surrounding European budget talks this week seemed to weigh on risk taking sentiment. US equity markets were able to rally through the Wall Street opening, and turn into slightly positive territory into the mid session. It's possible that some of the upside reversal action came from further gains in the shares of Apple, with one brokerage firm noting that Apple shares were undervalued. Well-received earnings from Disney late Tuesday afternoon and reports of 3M boosting their dividend helped the March E-mini Dow climbed back above 13,900. Stocks continued to choppy around unchanged levels throughout the afternoon trade. Earnings after the bell this afternoon are expected from Akamai Technologies and Visa.
